Benue killings: Nigerians must stand together – Super Eagles forward, Moses Simon

Super Eagles forward, Moses Simon, has urged Nigerians to stand together against violence after armedmen attacked inhabitants of a village in Benue State.

DAILY POST reported that over 200 people were brutally killed in a deadly overnight attack in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area of the state last Friday.

The attack claimed the lives of mostly internally displaced persons, IDPs, who were taking refuge at a local Catholic mission.

As a result, Benue residents protested against the killings over the weekend, while social media platforms were flooded with awareness of the gruesome events happening in the Middle Belt of Nigeria.

On Sunday, Pope Leo offered prayers for the victims of what he described as a “terrible massacre” in Benue State, Nigeria.

Reacting, Simon, in a post on his X account on Monday also sympathized with the victims and families affected by the tragic Benue killings.

The Nantes star wrote, “My heart goes out to the victims and families affected by the tragic Benue killings.

“We must stand together against violence and demand justice.”
