‘Benue people must come out to give Tinubu rousing welcome’ – Alia’s aide

The Benue State Government has called on all residents and registered support groups to come out en masse to warmly welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his scheduled visit to the state on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

In an official memo issued by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Groups Mobilization, Francis U. Ngutswen, the government described the visit as historic and urged citizens to show massive support and hospitality to the President.

The directive, issued on behalf of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, tasked political support groups and community stakeholders with organizing a “colourful shoulder-to-shoulder procession” from the Makurdi Airport to Wurukum Roundabout and onward to the Government House, where the President is expected to address a town-hall meeting.

“The Support Groups Constituency is required to form a colourful shoulder-to-shoulder spread/procession from the airport to Wurukum Roundabout and down to Government House Makurdi,” the letter read.

According to the notice, accreditation for the event will be based strictly on group numbers and assigned colours, with group leaders expected to contact the Office of the SSA for further coordination.
