Ibrahim Gotan resumes office as Osun Commissioner of Police

The Osun State Police Command, has announced the resumption of office of Ibrahim Gotan as the new Commissioner of Police.

CP Gotan succeeds Mohammed Umar Abba according to a statement issued by Abiodun Ojelabi, command the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO on Tuesday.

Ojelabi in the statement said the appointment of Gotan was sequel to the recent retirement of former Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Umar Abba.

The statement revealed that, “Gotan was born some decades ago in Pankshin Local Government, Plateau State.

He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Sociology.

He was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force in May, 1992 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP).

He served in Borno State as PA to the CP; DIG Waheed Kazeem rtd, as unit Commander Ogoni land at the heat of the crisis, 2i/c 4PMF Ibadan, DPO in various Divisions, 2i/c OPS Taraba State, Nigeria Formed Police Unit (NFPU) Commander in Liberia on two occasions due to his outstanding performance and so on.

“He has attended so many professional courses within and outside the country.

“A pure-bred professional who has, since joining the Force, made waves in various departments that hold the Nigeria Police: Administration, Operations and Investigations like a colossus.

“His hobbies are but not limited to football, travelling and polo. He is happily married and blessed with wonderful children.”
