The Kebbi State Police Command has recovered vandalised high-tension cables and motorcycles abandoned by suspected vandals in Ribah District, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said in a statement on Tuesday that the recovery was made during a joint patrol by police officers and local vigilantes along the Saki–Unashi road around 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
He said the suspects fled upon sighting the patrol team, leaving behind two motorcycles and the stolen cables.
“The suspects abandoned their motorcycles and the vandalised cables as they fled to avoid being apprehended,” the statement read.
The recovered items are now in police custody as investigations continue to track down the culprits.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, commended the patrol team for their swift response and assured that the command remains committed to safeguarding critical infrastructure across the state.
He urged residents to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
