Beware of fake donation requests for Dambatta hospital  – Kano govt warns

The Kano State Hospitals Management Board has warned the public about fake donation requests circulating on social media.

These messages ask people to send money for the installation of an X-ray machine at Dambatta General Hospital.

In a statement on Tuesday, the board’s Public Relations Officer, Samira Suleiman, said the board is not connected to any such fundraising efforts.

She explained that the messages include a phone number and bank account details, but these are false.

“A philanthropist did promise to donate an X-ray machine worth N6.9 million to the hospital, but the machine has not arrived yet,” Suleiman said.

“No hospital staff or management member has seen the machine. We only have a receipt.”

She urged people to be careful and not to send money to anyone asking for donations linked to the X-ray machine.

“The hospital and the management board are not behind these requests. We ask everyone to be alert and avoid falling victim to fraud,” Suleiman added.
