Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has formally informed the United Nations Security Council that Israel’s recent military strikes on Iran were carried out to “neutralize the existential and imminent threat from Iran’s nuclear weapon.”
Sa’ar posted a letter on social media platform X, stating that the Israeli operation was justified in light of Iran’s “strategic plan to eliminate Israel.”
The letter stated that the strikes specifically targeted “military facilities and critical components of Iran’s nuclear weapons program.”
Sa’ar further accused Iran of orchestrating a multi-front campaign against Israel through its proxy forces.
“This is all part of the Iranian war plan to encircle Israel with a ‘ring of fire,’ in pursuit of Israel’s annihilation,” he wrote, while referencing Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
