Big Brother Naija star cum Nollywood actor, Pere Egbi, has expressed sadness over the demise of his friend.
Naija News reports that Pere, in a post via 𝕏 on Monday, revealed that the tragic loss was a result of relentless online bullying.
Although the media personality did not give specific details about the tragedy, he stated that the incident occurred on Monday.
He said, “I lost a friend today due to online bullying. Committed suicide. Smh. RIP champ. It is well.”
Meanwhile, Pere Egbi recently shared his thoughts on the state of film production in Africa.
Naija News reports that the actor, in a post on Twitter, pointed out that South Africa currently has an edge over Nollywood in areas such as storytelling, filmmaking, and work ethics.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate disclosed that while Nollywood has continued to grow and gain global attention, South Africa has made noticeable progress in production quality and industry standards.
Egbi stressed the importance of partnership between the two industries, saying that collaboration would help strengthen African cinema on the world stage.
He wrote: “No offense to my Nollywood colleagues but you see South Africa, they are ahead of us o when it comes to film production, story telling, film making, work ethics, name it. They are ahead. We need to collaborate!”
