Tinubu support group shares food items to vulnerable families in south-east

The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) has distributed Christmas food palliatives and essential items to vulnerable households across the south-east to ease economic hardship during the festive season.

The distribution was carried out under the leadership of Belusochukwu Enwere, national coordinator of SERHA.

Enwere said the initiative was designed to ensure that no family in the region is left behind during the season of goodwill.

He said the festive period should serve as a moment for reflection on collective responsibility towards the less privileged.

Enwere noted that rising economic pressures and the high cost of living have increased the burden on households, making targeted interventions necessary.

He said the palliatives included staple food items such as rice, beans, garri and other essential commodities.

Enwere added that beneficiaries were identified through collaboration between SERHA officials and community leaders to ensure transparency and inclusiveness.

“This initiative is aimed at providing relief to households burdened by economic hardship, easing the cost of living, and ensuring that no family is left behind during this season,” he said.

The SERHA coordinator said the programme goes beyond short-term relief and reflects a broader commitment to food security and social welfare.

He said the initiative aligns with principles of solidarity, shared prosperity and human dignity.

Enwere urged beneficiaries to use the items for their intended purpose of feeding their families, warning against selling the palliatives.

He commended community leaders for supporting the exercise and said grassroots collaboration remains vital to social intervention programmes.

Enwere also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as “qualitative leadership”, adding that the Renewed Hope Agenda aligns with the president’s vision of inclusive growth and national development.

Enwere assured Tinubu of continued political support from the south-east ahead of the 2027 general election.

“Our dear president, be rest assured that South East votes are for you. We will ensure that we re-elect you come 2027,” he said.

He called on citizens to sustain unity, compassion and mutual support beyond the festive season.

Enwere concluded by offering prayers for the beneficiaries, their families and the nation, wishing Nigerians a peaceful Christmas and a hopeful new year.
