Paul Ibe, a media aide to ex-Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has accused President Bola Tinubu of indicting himself over the ongoing killings in Benue State.
Ibe said Tinubu’s old post that Nigeria had no government in the face of Boko Haram attacks was still relevant now that he is President.
He said the unending bloodshed in Nigeria has shown that the country lacks leadership under Tinubu.
Ibe made the remark while recalling an old tweet made by Tinubu that Boko Haram attacks under former President Muhammadu Buhari showed that Nigeria has no government.
In the X post, Tinubu had said: “The festering Boko Haram attacks on the Northeast and massacre of innocent citizens is concrete proof that Nigeria has no government.”
Reacting to the latest attacks in Benue State, Ibe posted on X: “President Tinubu is absolutely right — and his own words are the indictment: “The relentless slaughter in Benue, Plateau, Niger, Zamfara, and beyond is irrefutable evidence that Nigeria is on autopilot…”
“A nation bleeding under the weight of insecurity and lawlessness is a nation without leadership.
“This isn’t opposition talking.

A few days ago, suspected armed herdsmen attacked Yelwata in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State and other communities around the Benue-Nasarawa corridor.
Over 300 people were killed during the attack by the herders.
