According to a report by The Nation on Saturday, October 4, 2025, associate Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Toluwani Odukoya, has opened up about her experience with marital separation, describing it as one of the most challenging seasons of her life.

In an interview, she explained that the separation was due to circumstances beyond her control and likened the process to experiencing a form of loss.

Toluwani, who is 40 years old, stressed that separation should not always be seen as a sign of failure or fault.

She noted that while her marriage ended, her former husband remains a good man, but their union was not destined to last.

According to her, relationships that are not aligned with God’s plan may not endure, no matter how much effort is put into sustaining them.

She said, “My ex-husband is a great man… but if God doesn’t ordain you guys to be together and you force-fit yourselves, the likelihood of staying together is very low.”

She reflected on the personal difficulties she has faced in recent years, particularly the series of family tragedies that tested her faith.

Among the losses she endured was the passing of her stepmother, her father’s twin sister, and eventually her father, Senior Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, who died on August 7, 2023.

These events, she said, compounded the emotional weight she was already carrying from her separation.

Despite the pain, Toluwani explained that she has leaned on her faith as a source of strength.

She said her relationship with God has deepened during this period and that she has been able to draw courage and direction from her spiritual convictions.

She added that the support of her family has also been vital in helping her navigate the difficult times.

Toluwani further encouraged others going through separation not to feel ashamed or defeated, but to see it as part of a personal journey.

She maintained that healing and resilience are possible when one places trust in God and surrounds themselves with supportive people who provide encouragement during moments of weakness.
