SGF Can Be Reduced To Stooge,Mustapha Didn’t Know Of Fake Letter That Made CBN Give INEC N7Bn—Dalung

Solomon Dalung, a former minister, has stated that the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) can sometimes be reduced to an insignificant role despite its importance. Dalung said even a Special Adviser (SA) close to the president can become more powerful than the SGF.

In an interview with Trust TV, Dalung saidthis was why, during Boss Mustapha’s time as SGF, he was not aware when a fake letter was written and taken to the Central Bank, leading to the payment of about seven billion naira to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In Dalung’s words: “Try to understand the presidential system. The secretary of government can be reduced to a mere stooge and a redundant office. That was why Boss Mustapha was not aware of a fake letter written outside, taken to the Central Bank and 7 billion naira was paid to INEC. So that is how that office is”
