If Nigerians Don't Find Common Purpose To Get Rid Of APC, APC Will Be Left Free To Destroy—Farotimi

‎In a recent statement via his official X account, human rights lawyer and political activist, Dele Farotimi, has called on Nigerians to come together to remove the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power, accusing the ruling party of destroying the country.

‎Farotimi warned that unless Nigerians unite to reinvent their nation, the APC will continue to cause harm through bad governance, corruption, and insecurity.

‎”If Nigerians do not find common purpose to get rid of the APC and reinvent their country to work for their benefit, the APC will be left free to do what it does best; kill, steal, and destroy. Imagine the obscene figures coming out of Professor Umahi’s mouth,” he wrote.

‎In his post, Farotimi said the APC has brought hardship and division to the country since coming to power.

‎He accused the party of failing to deliver on its promises and of enriching a few at the expense of the masses.

‎According to him, the ruling class has continued to “kill, steal, and destroy” while citizens remain silent.

‎Farotimi urged Nigerians to develop a common purpose that prioritizes national interest over political or ethnic loyalty.

‎He said citizens must take responsibility for rebuilding the country instead of waiting for politicians to act.

‎He also referenced comments reportedly made by the Minister of Works, Professor David Umahi, suggesting that government spending figures have become excessive and detached from the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians.

‎Farotimi described these figures as “obscene,” saying they show how disconnected those in power are from the suffering of the people.
