Apart from the university case, another priest also made sexual advances toward me- Annastasia Kinse

The 29-year-old nun, who was the first person from her town in Plateau State to enter the holy life, claims that her decision to expose misbehavior by her department head led to her termination.

A pattern of harassment in religious settings was detailed by Kinse, who disclosed that “Apart from the university case, another priest also made sexual advances toward me.” She claims that after she asked for help from church officials, this priest later took part in attempts to discredit her.

Instead of being investigated, Kinse claims that her reports were greeted with institutional resistance, which resulted in what she describes as a retaliatory dismissal.

The ex-sister believes that a misinterpreted social media post made in a time of hardship served as the basis for her dismissal letter, which accused her of converting to Islam.

Despite the way she was treated by church officials, she maintains her commitment to her Catholic faith. In order to refute assertions made by the congregation regarding Kinse’s mental health, she has undertaken an independent psychiatric evaluation.

Her story has brought attention to the way that religious organizations respond to internal misbehavior charges. In remarks, the congregation refutes Kinse’s claims, claiming she was fired for misbehavior and for straying from Catholic doctrine.

Kinse is still pursuing what she calls justice for herself and other possible victims of institutional silence in the meanwhile.
