During the Presidential Election Peter Obi Swept Up 90% Votes and Peter Mbah Became Frustrated—Iyere

According to a report by News Central TV on Wednesday October 15, 2025, Political Analyst Kennedy Iyere has offered a detailed account of how he mobilized the obedient movement in Enugu State to support Governor Peter Mbah during the gubernatorial election, claiming Mbah was frustrated after the presidential polls and sought immediate help to counter the opposition’s strength.
Iyere asserted that the Obedient Movement, backing Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, had secured a massive mandate in the state, which left the gubernatorial candidate facing a daunting challenge in the approaching election.
“When the presidential election took place Peter Obi and the obedient movement swept up to 90% of the votes,” Iyere claimed.
He stated that the prospect of a similar result just two weeks later led the gubernatorial candidate to seek him out.
“Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah became frustrated. He was looking around for help because what was to happen after 2 weeks would not be different from what happened before during the presidential election,” he explained.
Iyere recounted the moment the candidate approached him, describing him as looking helpless.
“They brought that guy to me and he was sitting like an orphan. Long story cut short. I collapsed the obedient movement to support him,” Iyere revealed.
He recalled asking the candidate why he only sought assistance so late in the process.
“But before then I asked him why are you coming now? He said to me he thought it was a joke,” Iyere quoted the candidate as saying.
Iyere used this illustration to issue a stern warning to political opponents currently organizing, suggesting they are facing an even greater challenge than the one Mbah encountered.
“I’m giving this illustration so that those of them camping today should realize that a bigger force than the force they saw in 2022 is coming.”
